Middle School Ministries

The Middle School Ministry is for 6th through 8th graders. Here, we seek to share the relevant truth of the gospel in an exciting way. We also desire to equip these students to grow in their faith that they might share that faith with others. We hope that you will come and be a part of this vital ministry of First Baptist as either a student, parent, or volunteer.

A poem by one of our youth:

The Good Shepherd
By Courtney Bailey

There once was a Shepherd
That had many sheep
He watched them when they were awake And when they were asleep
The loving, caring Shepherd
Provided them with water and food
He gave them the greenest pastures
And everything that was good
One day, a meek little lamb
Wandered away
And was lost for
Many a night and many a day
Missing but one little sheep
The Good Shepherd went out
And looked for the lamb
As He went about
He soon heard bleating and crying
From the little one
The poor sheep was in a dark valley
That was blocked from the Sun
With pierced hands
He picked up the lamb for which He died
And as the sheep looked at Him
The small animal began to cry
The rebellious lamb
Was so ashamed
Then its heart
Swelled with pain
Holding the lamb close to His heart
He cradled the little sheep
And the warmth, love, and forgiveness
Soothed the lamb, for it made not a peep
Then the Good Shepherd took
The lamb back to the flock
And the lamb knew never
To go back among the rocks
The sheep was happy, content, and appreciative
For the work its Savior had done
The Good Shepherd rescued it from darkness
And the lamb once again saw the Sun
