July - Make Waves
We were created in God’s image. God sent Jesus to show us the best way to be human. But God knew we’d need help. That’s why God sent us the Holy Spirit. With the power of the Spirit, wecan produce fruit that points others to Jesus. We will discover something about God’s character and how we can reflect or respond to that character because we are created in God’s image. Here is a summary of what your elementary child will learn in the month of July.
Week One: The Good Samaritan - Luke10:25-37
Bottom Line: Show kindness to everyone.
Week Two: City on a Hill Matthew -5:14-16
Bottom Line: Show God’s goodness to others.
Week Three: David and Jonathan - 1Samuel 18-20, 2 Samuel 9 (Supporting: 2 Samuel 4:4)
Bottom Line: Be faithful so others can count on you.
Week Four: Jesus and the Little Children - Mark 10:13-16
Bottom Line: God can give you the strength to be gentle.
Week Five: Taming of the Tongue -James 3:1-6
Bottom Line: God gives you the power to have self-control. What You Do Today Can Change The World Around You.
Memory Verse for this month: “God began a good work in you. And I am sure that he will carry it on until it is completed. That will be on the day Christ Jesus returns.” Philippians 1:6, NIRV
We believe kids learn best in a small group environment, therefore, we have designated a specific time out of our Sunday morning schedule just for groups. These life groups give us opportunities to reinforce the main point of the day and talk about actual life application at the individual level. All classes are divided into grade levels for the best developmental engagement.
We are so excited! Part of our MidWeek Kidz will include AWANA. We have had many kids go through our AWANA program and look forward to their special AWANA awards once they pass off sections and books. But, what if your child does not want to participate in AWANA? That is fine too! We want all our kids to be part of our MidWeek Kidz program.
Whether your kids will participate in AWANA or not, we ask that you register. Registration is $30, but this will go towards a cool MidWeek Kidz Tee with our new MidWeek Kidz logo, our Kidz store items, awards and our End of the Year Celebration time.
To register, visit the Welcome Desk in the Children’s Building on the 2nd floor or contact Michelle Hales for more information.
