Overview:
The Communications Assistant will work collaboratively with the communications staff and others in carrying out a variety of communications responsibilities that enable us to fulfill our mission as a church.

Job Responsibilities:
~ Utilize resources provided by the Communications department of the church to compile and design visuals for digital, web, print and social media as requested.
~ Design event graphics for digital promotion with a high standard of creativity and excellence that adhere to the brand guidelines.
~ Approve, request changes or revise event graphics for branding adherence and visual appeal as submitted to the Communications department.
~ Coordinate in-house and/or outsourced printing for communications projects.
~ Plan, format and send weekly Get Connected email to church.
~ Participate in regular Communications Staff Meetings to determine upcoming communications priorities.
~ Collect content and data for communications purposes.
~ Draft, edit and proof communications copy.
~ Maintain communications databases with logo and branding updates.
~ Help implement internal and external communications strategies and projects.
~ Update the church website ensuring that information and images are current and uploads are timely.
~ Participate in social media creativity and implementation.
~ Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Communications and/or Executive Leadership.
· Assist the church in fulfilling its mission by actively participating in staff worship and prayer meetings; caring for members of the congregation as opportunities arise; and consistently praying for the church, its ministries, the congregation and the community.
· Assist with preparation of bi-weekly payrolls for the church and its ministries.
·Assist with the onboardingof new employees. Assist with the processing of benefit enrollments.
· Prepare bank, benefit and GL reconciliations as assigned.
· Assist with reconciliations of the subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger, as assigned.
· Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and other financial reports as needed.
· Assist with the maintenance of fixed asset records.
· Assist with preparation of taxes as assigned, including Form 990/990-T, sales tax returns, etc.
· Assist with annual budget preparation as needed.
· Provide general officesupport and assistance with other duties, such as daily bank deposits, accountspayable, maintaining historical data, certificates of insurance andcontribution statements, as assigned.
Position Requirements:

~ Degree in accounting (or currently enrolled in an accounting degree program) or 3-5 years accounting or payroll experience required.
~ Proficiency in Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).

~ Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work with people — conveying a positive/professional image.

Must have basic computer skills, including word processing, email and internet. Must be an excellent communicator. Previous experience with event planning would be desired. Will be involved with weekly chapel planning/prep, J-term trips, missions opportunities and social media content related to CCS discipleship.
We are looking to fill a part-time (10 hours/week) position to provide administrative support for the CCS Director of Discipleship.
